Since 1960 Hotel Carla offers its guests a stay of pure relaxation in a well-kept and familiar environment with many services and excellent cuisine. The quality of the hotel is highlighted by the care of its 30 rooms, all comfortable and tastefully furnished. Many rooms have a private balcony overlooking Levanto. Its position makes it ideal for those wishing to spend a holiday by the sea or to visit the Cinque Terre villages. The Cinque Terre are five hamlets or, as we once said, ‘lands’ located in the Ligurian Riviera between La Spezia and the ‘bays of the Levante’ area.
Listed from the west to the east are: Monterosso al Mare, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola, Riomaggiore.
Five ancient settlements that have experienced depopulation during the last century but brought to new life from tourism that recognized the extraordinary nature of landscapes and local culture.
UNESCO has included the stretch of coast of the 5 Terre and of Portovenere in the list heritage of humanity in 1997. In 1998 a marine protected area was established and the National Park of the Cinque Terre was born. Today it has the task of conserving ecological balances, protecting the landscape and safeguarding anthropological values. The 5 Terre are the product of the encounter between peasant and seafaring culture on an acrimonious and fragile territory, perched on rock spurs overlooking the sea. The colorful houses, the narrow ‘caruggi, the sea and the vineyards enchant thousands of tourists every year..
